How about a Steinhafels’ Decorating Solutions Tip of the Week to start your new year off right!
When redecorating, do you feel stifled by the “rules” of design? Do you have designer’s block? Jenii Kluver is an interior designer based at our Oak Creek store. Today she tackles the concept of mixing woods.
Jenii explains, “People tend to feel the need to match all of the wood colors in their rooms. However, as long as you stick with the same tone of wood (cool, warm, etc.), you can mix and match your wood tables, chairs, cabinets, trim, and flooring. Just don’t go overboard–you still want it to be visually pleasing!”
Jenii and all of our talented designers can help you with projects like this one. Just stop by your local Steinhafels!

When it comes to interior design, sometimes it’s best to go the unconventional route.
For example–the coffee table. It’s been a living room staple for years. But who just sits around and sips coffee or tea anymore?
That brings us to this week’s #DecoratingSolutions Tip of the Week. It comes from Waukesha Interior Decorator Rhonda Vivoda.
Rhonda’s words of wisdom: “Instead of a coffee table use a big ottoman or a couple smaller ottomans. Ottomans are great because they can act as additional seating, footrests, or you can put trays on top and still use them as coffee tables. Sometimes an ottoman can be a storage unit as well!”
So put your feet up and relax, or sip your tea from a tray. The all-purpose ottoman is ready for you! We post a quick and easy decor tip each Monday. Check in next week for another #DSTipOfTheWeek.
We all strive to keep a clean and neat home because we take pride in our living space. Even more, keeping things tidy is also a way to give your home a truly designer look–without having to go out and buy tons of new furniture and accessories!
Get out the notepad and jot down this helpful hint. That’s right… it’s time for another Steinhafels Decorating Solutions Tip of the Week! This week’s tip comes from Interior Designer Jenii Kluver. Jenii works at our Oak Creek store, and helps customers in the southeast section of Milwaukee create the homes of their dreams.
Jenii’s tip is pretty simple: “Removing clutter from surfaces in your home will truly give it that designer look. Stick to a few accessory pieces on each surface, and keep things off of the floor for a clean and minimal look.”
